Driver terms
Last updated 9 October 2026 · Version 2026-10
These are the terms on which DropDash finds and supplies delivery work for drivers. They are given to you before we provide any work-finding service, as required by regulations 14 and 15 of the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. You accept them electronically when you enrol, and we keep a record of the version you accepted.
1. Key terms at a glance
| Term | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Who you contract with | DROP DASH UK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 14749884, whose registered office is at 10 Cranford Gardens, Royston, Barnsley, England, S71 4SP, acting as an employment business. |

| Fees to you | None. We never charge you to register or to find you work. |
| Type of work | Parcel delivery and related services: multi-drop, lockers, parcelshops, collections, same-day, warehouse and similar. |
| Pay | The rate shown on each job (per parcel, drop, collection, hour, mile, day or fixed), plus any approved expenses. |

| Choice of work | You can accept or decline any job without penalty, and work for others. |
| Substitution | You may send a substitute who has passed the same checks, including right to work. |
| Notice | Either side may end the arrangement at any time by notice in the app or by email. Jobs already accepted should be completed or covered. |
| Holiday pay | Not applicable to self-employed contractors. |
2. About these terms
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “DropDash” mean DROP DASH UK LTD. “You” means the driver. A “client” is the courier company or other business you carry out a job for. A “job” is a specific piece of work on a specific date that you have accepted.
If you work through your own limited company, these terms apply to your company and to you as the individual who carries out the work. Limited-company contractors may choose to opt out of the Conduct Regulations by notice to us before work is supplied; sole traders cannot opt out.
3. Your status
You are engaged under a contract for services as a self-employed contractor. Nothing in these terms makes you an employee or worker of DropDash or of any client. In particular:
- there is no obligation on us to offer you work, or on you to accept it;
- you decide which jobs to accept and you may provide services to anyone else, including competitors;
- you supply your own vehicle, equipment, phone and insurance and bear the costs of running them;
- you may send a suitable substitute (see right of substitution);
- you are responsible for your own tax, National Insurance and record-keeping.
Clients will give you the operational information needed to do a job (depot location, start time, round, scanning procedures and site safety rules), but they do not supervise or direct how you do your work beyond that.
We may in future offer an alternative engagement as a PAYE worker or agency worker. That would be under separate written terms, with a Key Information Document, and would only apply if you agree to it.
4. No fees for finding work
We do not charge you any fee for registering with us or for finding you work, and we will not make finding you work conditional on you buying any other service (section 6, Employment Agencies Act 1973).
If we ever offer optional paid services — for example vehicle hire or branded clothing — we will give you the terms and costs in writing first, you will be free to refuse them, and refusing will not affect the work we offer you.
5. Checks before you work
Before we can supply you to any client, you must:
- pass a right to work check, and a follow-up check before any time-limited permission expires;
- hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle you will use and provide a current DVLA check code;
- provide proof of address, your National Insurance number and evidence of self-employment (UTR) or company registration;
- hold valid hire and reward motor insurance, goods in transit and public liability cover;
- use a vehicle with a valid MOT (where required) and vehicle tax;
- provide a basic DBS certificate where a client requires one for a particular job.
You must tell us immediately if anything changes — for example penalty points, a driving ban, cancelled insurance or a change in your immigration permission. We cannot allocate work while a required check or document has expired.
6. How work is offered
Jobs appear in the app with the client, depot, date, start time, type of work, vehicle requirement, pay model and rate. You can request a job, or we may offer one to you directly. A job is confirmed only when it shows as “Confirmed” in the app.
Before supplying you, we tell the client your name, vehicle, relevant experience and that you hold the checks and authorisations the job needs. We also tell you about any health and safety risks the client has told us about.
7. Freedom to decline
You may decline any job offered to you, or withdraw a request before it is confirmed, without giving a reason and without any penalty. Declining does not affect the work offered to you in future. Ratings that clients give are seen only by our team and are not used to discipline you.
Once you have accepted a job, please complete it or arrange a substitute. If you cannot, cancel in the app as early as possible so the client can arrange cover.
8. Right of substitution
You may arrange for a substitute to carry out an accepted job in your place. Because we and the client have legal duties to check everyone who does the work, your substitute must first register with DropDash and pass the same checks as you — including a right to work check, licence check and insurance that covers them and the vehicle. Tell us the substitute’s details as early as possible. Unless agreed otherwise, the job is paid to you and you are responsible for paying your substitute.
9. Rates and how you're paid
- Rates: the rate for each job is set by DropDash in agreement with the client and shown in the app before you accept. It may be per parcel, per drop, per collection, per hour, per mile, per day or a fixed price, and may include size bands, uplifts or rates for failed deliveries.
- What you’re paid for: the work recorded in your end-of-day report as approved by the client (or by us on the client’s behalf), plus approved expenses. If a client adjusts or disputes your report, we will show you the reason and you can respond before the dispute is resolved.
- When: we pay weekly. Each week we issue a self-billed statement covering jobs approved in the previous weekly period and pay it by bank transfer to the account you have given us. Pay is not dependent on whether the client has paid us.
- Deductions: we will not make deductions from your pay except those you have agreed to in writing in advance, or to correct an overpayment we have told you about.
- Tax: we pay you gross. You are responsible for declaring your income and paying tax and National Insurance to HMRC.
10. Your vehicle and insurance
You are responsible for making sure that, whenever you carry out a job:
- your vehicle is roadworthy, taxed, has a valid MOT where required and meets any low-emission zone rules for the area;
- your hire and reward motor insurance covers you and that vehicle for carrying goods for payment;
- your goods in transit and public liability cover meet the levels shown on the job;
- you upload renewed certificates before the old ones expire.
11. Drivers' hours and safety
- Follow the drivers’ hours rules that apply to your vehicle. For vans up to 3.5 tonnes under GB domestic rules, that means no more than 10 hours driving and 11 hours on duty in a day. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are subject to tachograph rules.
- Don’t accept work that would take you over these limits, including hours worked for others.
- Carry out a walkaround check before driving and report defects. Don’t drive a vehicle that is unsafe.
- Never hold or use a phone while driving. Use a cradle and only interact with the app when safely parked.
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or when you are too tired to drive safely.
- Follow the client’s site safety rules and any induction, and report accidents and incidents in the app straight away.
12. Proof of delivery standards
- Record every delivery, failed delivery and return accurately using the client’s system and your DropDash end-of-day report.
- Proof-of-delivery photos should clearly show the parcel and the door or safe place. Do not photograph people, the inside of homes or anything not needed as proof.
- Only leave parcels in a safe place or with a neighbour where the client’s procedures allow it, and record exactly where.
- Follow age-verification procedures for restricted items.
- Submitting false information in an end-of-day report is a serious breach of these terms.
13. Conduct at client sites
Treat client staff, customers and the public with respect, and follow site rules on security, parking, PPE and confidentiality. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination or abuse of any kind — by you or towards you. If you experience it from anyone at a client site, report it to us and we will act on it.
14. Liability
You are responsible for loss or damage you cause through negligence or breach of these terms, which is why insurance is required. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
15. Data protection
We process your personal data as explained in our privacy notice. In particular, location is recorded only while you are checked in on a shift, and clients only see your name, photo, vehicle, verification status and the records of jobs you do for them. You must keep any personal data you see while working — such as customer addresses — confidential and use it only to carry out the job.
16. Ending the arrangement
You can stop using DropDash at any time by telling us in the app or by email. We can end the arrangement by giving you notice by email. We may suspend you from being offered work immediately if a required check or document expires, if you seriously breach these terms (for example falsifying reports, unsafe driving or abusive behaviour) or if a client raises a serious concern while we investigate. We will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
After the arrangement ends we will pay you for all approved work, and keep your records for the periods set out in our privacy notice.
17. Complaints and disputes
If you have a problem with a job, a payment or how you’ve been treated, raise it in the app or follow our complaints procedure. Pay disputes are reviewed against check-in data, photos and the client’s records. You can also contact the Fair Work Agency, which enforces the rules on employment agencies and businesses.
18. Self-billing agreement
This self-billing agreement is made between DROP DASH UK LTD (the customer) and you (the supplier), in line with HMRC VAT Notice 700/62. You sign it electronically during onboarding, and we record the start date.
DropDash agrees to:
- issue self-billed invoices for all supplies of services you make to us, for the duration of this agreement;
- give each invoice a unique, sequential number (for example SB-000001) and include your name, address and, if you are VAT-registered, your VAT number;
- where you are VAT-registered, show VAT at the correct rate with the wording “The VAT shown is your output tax due to HMRC”;
- make a copy of each invoice available to you in the app;
- tell you if we stop being VAT-registered, change our VAT number or transfer our business.
You agree to:
- accept the invoices we raise on your behalf;
- not issue your own sales invoices for the services covered by this agreement;
- tell us immediately if you register for VAT, deregister, or change your VAT number;
- tell us if you transfer your business, or if your business details change.
Term: this agreement lasts for 12 months from the date you sign it. We will ask you to renew it before it expires. It ends automatically if your engagement with DropDash ends. If you think a self-billed invoice is wrong, tell us within 30 days and we will issue a correction (credit or additional invoice).
19. General
We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes at least 14 days in advance and ask you to accept the new version before you accept further jobs; jobs already accepted remain under the terms in force when you accepted them. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
